Design, construction and calibration
of a sound level meter,
with visual warning indication,
 intended to be used in
Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).

NEO DEVICE ALREADY INSTALLED AT HOSPITAL POSADAS,
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

NEO (for NEOnatology) device, which can be seen in the above picture, allows real-time monitoring of sound levels existing in a determined area. As in a traffic light, green lights indicate a sound level within tolerable limits, yellow lights indicate that sound is near to reach its maximum limit, and red lights indicate that sound level has exceeded that limit.

In addition, NEO provides a clear and unmistakable visual warning signal as soon as the noise limit of the area is exceeded: red light and the word SILENCIO (SILENCE) flashing both at the same time.

Everybody can easily understand NEO warning sign so immediate action can be taken (without the hassle -and embarrassment-  of having to be asking everybody for silence).

The noise limit can easily be set by turning the knob on the right side of the device. So, you can adjust the noise limit to suit the function of the room.

NEO was enterely designed in our school:
EEST 2 TRES DE FEBRERO,
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA.
